It was a game of oopsie in Texas when the state mistakenly sent out thousands of driver’s licenses to an organized crime group. That group used the licenses to clean out the bank accounts of thousands of people nationwide, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The News said: “A web of suspects around the country used the IDs to draw huge sums from victims’ bank accounts, buy luxury cars and open credit cards, the officials told The Dallas Morning News in an exclusive briefing. At least 5,000 Texans are victims of the scheme, including some in the Dallas area.”

With cash in hand and a driver’s license, the thieves could easily leave home with it.
