The word cop has its origins as shorthand for “Constable On Patrol.” No doubt a former London cop withes he was on patrol instead of being scammed, according to the London Free Press.
The former officer was conned into thinking he was helping expose corrupt colleagues lost a court appeal of his convictions for breach of trust and obstructing justice. The former officer said he should be spared because of police misconduct.
The judge agreed and according to the Free Press, “But the court also suggested police forces take care in investigating their own officers, and that London police might have done a better job distancing itself in the case.”
The former officer was convicted in September 2019 after becoming entangled with a con artist, Darko Jovanovich, who defrauded him of $450,000 and persuaded him to release confidential police information, the Free Press said.
